LOCAL RESTAURANTS

There are numerous restaurants dotted around the little villages and coutryside surrounding the lake. The difficulty is in deciding which one to choose - here's some help!

Restaurante Camping Situated on the West Side of the Lake this restaurant is very popular with local people and tourists alike. It has a casual, laid back, taverna-type atmosphere, and has a wide choice of grilled meats, salads and bagels. There is plentiful seating inside and an L shaped terrace outside which has magnificent views over the Lake. (This is your 'local' - and just about 2 kms from the villa).

Resturante EL Pantano Situated next door to the Restaurante Camping, this restaurant provides a little more refined dining experience with extensive menu of meat, chicken and fish dishes. Similar to the Camping restaurant there is an outside terrace with excellent views over the Lake. Good value for money.

Vente El Charco (Los Romanes): Just a 5 minutes by car from the villa is the village of Los Romanes. Situated high up on the hillside with stunning views over the lake, no outside terrace but plenty of local character on the inside. The menu is quite extensive with large portions and excellent value.

Restaurante La Carpa (located below the village of Los Romanes). Set high up with tremendous views over the Lake. This Indian restaurant has an unusual design. It is shaped like a circus tent!

Restaurante Cantueso (Periana)
The most stunning 360 views imaginable of the Lake, the surrounding mountains and down to the coast at Torre del Mar. This restaurant just oozes character. Seating is available inside the old building but to experience the atmosphere of the restaurant getting a table outside is recommended.

The menu is in Spanish but reasonable to understand if you have a little Espanol.
If not, don't worry as the staff are able to help out. The food is good and well presented. Good choice of drinks and wine from their own Bodega. House wine is drawn from the barrel so don't expect to see a label on the bottle!

If you only have one meal out, make it here. Good food, good value and great ambiance.
